Main Roofer is renowned for our excellent roofing services, and as such recieves questions from our clients about those services. Some of our most common questions include:

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We serve all of Los Angeles, and the surrounding areas. Call us for a more specific map!

HOW LONG SHOULD A ROOF LAST?

The lifetime of a roof depends on a variety of factors, including its material, the climate, and the direction the house is facing. A 3 tab roof generally lasts between 15 and 20 years, whereas a flat roof may last 10 to 15 years. A new roof installed by our team with proper methods should last 15 to 20 years.

DOES MY ROOF REQUIRE ANY MAINTENANCE?

The rubber boots and flashing should be monitored, and assessed after 10-15 years to ensure their structural integrity. Otherwise, your roof may need minor repairs and cleaning every couple of years, of after any significant weather.

DO WE OFFER FREE INSPECTIONS?

Main Roofer provides free inspections if your roof is over 5 years old, and recommends bi-annual inspection to ensure integrity.

HOW LONG DOES AN ESTIMATE TAKE?

Depending on your roof, an esimate will take an average of 30 minutes to an hour. If your roof is especially damaged, unique or hard to get to, it may take longer.

HOW LONG DOES A NEW ROOF INSTALL TAKE?

A complete install will generally take between 1 day and 1 week, depending on the size and shape of the roof.

ARE YOUR WARRANTIES TRANSFERABLE?

Rest assured, we will be sure to register your roof with the shingle manufacturer so that it can be transferred to any future homeowners.

IS THERE A CORRECT ORDER TO HOME IMPROVEMENTS?

Yes! It's important to take care of outside issues first, so that any other remodels or improvements will be protected from the outside. If there are any issues with your roof, it can impact internal projects in a negative way, like by letting in water or being structurally unsound.

HOW DO I KNOW I NEED NEW GUTTERS?

As gutters age, the nails holding them in place often begin popping out, and the gutters start to pull away from the house. You may need new gutters if you notice either of those issues, or any leaking, overflowing, or visible dents.

DO I NEED BIGGER GUTTERS?

Bigger gutters are beneficial for houses with very large or steep roofs, or if your roof tends to have areas that overflow with every storm.

DO GUTTER GUARDS HELP?

Gutter guards are an excellent investment in your water diversion system. Guards help keep debris out of the gutters, but more importantly help divert water away from your house. Guards also help keep the gutters from clogging, thought they do still require cleaning bi-anually.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY GUTTERS CLEANED?

Gutters should generally be cleaned twice a year, though houses in wooded areas may benefir from quarterly cleaning.

HOW CAN I PREVENT ICE DAMS?

Maintaining appropriate attic insulation and ventilaton is the most effective method for preventing ice dams, but they can also be prevented by installing a heating cable in your gutters.
